  • 2004

In 2004, Mr. Theodor Gerdes took over the management of Otte Beton GmbH. Since then, the company has specialized in the production of precast concrete elements for agriculture (cattle and pig slatted floors) as well as for gardening and dyke construction (including U-pieces, roadway and large area slabs, and groynes). With decades of experience in marketing precast concrete elements, continuously growing and consistent quality standards, and its own crane vehicle and multiple freight forwarders, orders are processed quickly and reliably.

  • 1989

Due to the enormous development in the market and within the company, another renaming took place in February 1989 to Otte-Beton und Metallbau GmbH & Co. KG. Alongside the development and production of table systems, in-house logistics systems, special machinery, and irrigation systems, the branch for the production of precast concrete elements for horticulture, coastal protection, and especially for agriculture grew.

  • 1980s

In the early 1980s, Otte Beton GmbH & Co. KG developed the mobile and rolling table system specifically for horticultural businesses, where the tables could be moved in a highly efficient logistics system. As a result, Otte table systems, also known as container systems, continue to have a significant impact on the workflows in horticultural businesses to this day.

  • 1976

In 1976, Otte Beton GmbH & Co. KG in Westerstede designed and manufactured aluminum rolling tables for horticultural businesses for the first time. The market launch was a great success. At that time, few could have imagined how much this innovation would move an entire industry.

  • 1974

In March 1974, the company was renamed Otte Beton GmbH & Co. KG.

  • 1960s

Soon, the company's delivery capacity was no longer sufficient. In the 1960s, several major expansions were carried out to meet the constantly increasing demand. By the early 1970s, 140 employees were producing over 500 different specialty concrete items on an area of approximately 42,000 square meters. Due to the excellent quality of Otte products and the continuous expansion of the product range, the company Wilhelm Otte developed into the most important manufacturer of precast reinforced concrete elements for landscaping and gardening in Europe. Otte tables, Otte cold frames, Otte garden center facilities, and Otte's genuine Westerstede garden and sidewalk slabs became well-known brands.

  • 1952

A fundamental and important reorientation took place in the company in 1952 when the production of greenhouse tables made from precast reinforced concrete elements began. The advantages of these systems in terms of labor savings and rationalization were quickly recognized by more and more horticultural businesses, nurseries, and garden centers. In addition to greenhouse tables, the company Wilhelm Otte was also a leader in the development of cold frames, bed edgings, exposed aggregate concrete flower basins and facade elements, as well as other concrete products.

  • 1938

On May 1st, 1938, the company Wilhelm Otte in Westerstede was founded as a construction business. In addition to general building work, the production of the first precast concrete elements such as concrete lintels and laundry poles began simultaneously. After extensive trials, the company founder Wilhelm Otte constructed the first production machine for sidewalk slabs. The continuous development was interrupted by the Second World War. After the war, the company Wilhelm Otte also had to undergo a strenuous rebuilding process.
